It’s hard to believe I didn’t know Jack Velázquez until last week, I’d heard a few of her songs before but it didn’t click until last Monday when I heard her album in the bus I boarded from Ikeja to Costain.
I heard Un lugar celestial and I was enraptured, it is such a beautiful song! Perfection really, from the lyrics to the vocals and the instrumental harmony. God bless Jaci for singing this.
Before I gush further, here are the lyrics thanks to lyricsmode.com
Un Lugar celestial
Sometimes I realize, when I gaze in the skies,
This spinning world is not my home.
A place of mystery, a land of destiny
Is where I know one day I’ll go.
I dream of beauty I have never seen.
I know the arms of heaven wait for me
And yet I feel it’s sweetness here and now
In this life on earth I have found.
Un lugar celestial, [a heavenly place]
Just a little bit of heaven sent from up above.
Un lugar celestial, [a heavenly place]
Where the presence of my father holds me in his love.
Un lugar celestial. [a heavenly place]
When all my skies are gray, I simply steal away
Into my secret hiding place.
When hearts are cold as ice, the breath of paradise
Blows warm and gentle on my face.
I know I need my time alone with him,
His healing waters flowing deep within.
Don’t have to wish upon a distant star,
’cause the light of love fills my heart.
Un lugar celestial, [a heavenly place]
Just a little bit of heaven sent from up above.
Un lugar celestial, [a heavenly place]
Where the presence of my father holds me in his love.
Un lugar celestial. [a heavenly place]
Ooo ooo ooo (el cielo me llama) [heaven is calling me]
Ooo ooo ooo (caminando en las nubes) [walking on the clouds]
Ooo ooo ooo (dulce beso de libertad) [sweet kiss of liberty]
Ooo ooo ooo (nubes de gloria) [clouds of glory]
Un lugar celestial. [a heavenly place]
Just a little bit of heaven sent from up above.
Un lugar celestial, [a heavenly place]
Where the presence of my father holds me in his love.
Un lugar celestial, [a heavenly place]
Just a little bit of heaven sent from up above.
Un lugar celestial, [a heavenly place]
Where the presence of my father holds me in his love.
Un lugar celestial. [a heavenly place]
Jaci Velasquez you mean?
Thanks dear, my phone apparently has Velázquez as the correct version and it corrected me yesterday 🙂
