Carol! Mary did you know?

The Christmas spirit is still alive and well in this corner of the world- Chynanu’s blog. Today I’m featuring a song that is a traditional carol but it’s very awesome, so who cares if it isn’t 200 years old eh?

‘Mary did you know’ was written by Mark Lowry in 1990 and it has been recorded by a host of artistes but my favourite is by one of the major loves of my life- Kenny Rogers and he featured the very awesome Wynona Judd. Remember my post on Mary? – Remembering Mary, it’s similar in tone to this song. I really hope you enjoy this song and its beautiful lyrics.

“Mary Did You Know”
(originally by Mark Lowry (lyrics) and Buddy Greene (melody))
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?

Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?

Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?

Mary did you know.. Ooo Ooo Ooo

The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day rule the nations?

Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven’s perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you’re holding is the Great, I Am.

PS how is Christmas going to be like for you? Where are you turning up? Gimme gist!
