Grow old along with me!
The best is yet to be,
The last of life, for which the first was made:
Our times are in His hand
Who saith “A whole I planned,
Youth shows but half; trust God: see all, nor be afraid!”
A long time ago a certain poet roamed the earth, his name was Robert Browning. He was famous for his beautiful poetry and his romance with Elizabeth Barrett, I’d write about their love story soon but definitely not today. I’ve been writing too much about love recently.
The above excerpt is taken from his poem Rabbi Ben Ezra, which he wrote about Rabbi Ibn Ezra. Ibn Ezra was an influential Jewish scholar whose work is reflected even in our current bible. The full poem is extremely long and very beautiful but I’ve always been fascinated by the first two lines. The promise of getting better with age and excitement at future prospects.
We’ve just been given the gift of a new month, appropriately named “March”. It’s an opportunity to be bigger, better, to seize the day. The setbacks and challenges will surely come but a “can do” spirit will win all battles and take you to where you need to be. The clock might be ticking and the calendar may seem to flip too fast but do remember that you’re definitely a better version of yesterday’s you.
Happy New Month y’all
