Christmas Carols- Little drummer boy

Come with me and let’s paint a mental picture. A little shepherd boy sitting in a field listening to his father and big brothers recount the spectacle that occurred the previous night. A throng of angels appeared and told them of the birth of a special boy who was born that day. He was the messiah sent by God to deliver his people

The little boy was asleep when the angels came, no one bothered to wake him up and now he’d missed everything. He sulked all day until his father told him he could go and see the baby. His parents were staying in a manger because there was no room in the inn.

The little boy sets out to see the baby, he has no gift because he had no money so he decides to take his drum and play a tune for the baby. He was sure the baby would like it.

The little drummer boy
Come they told me
Pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see
Pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring
Pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the king
Pa rum pum pum pum
rum pum pum pum
rum pum pum pum
So to honor Him
Pa rum pum pum pum
When we come

Little baby
Pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too
Pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring
Pa rum pum pum pum
That’s fit to give our King
Pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum
Shall I play for you
Pa rum pum pum pum
On my drum

Mary nodded
Pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time
Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him
Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him
Pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum
Then He smiled at me
Pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum

The best gifts are not bought with money, they only cost love and time.
