Children and myths

I was walking through Oshodi on Wednesday afternoon and saw a hundred naira note on the ground, it was shiny and untorn. I wondered how come nobody has picked it up yet, was it because of its low value or because we’re all inherently honest or the fact that no one wants to be a victim of ritualists  especially in this yuletide. Reminded me of the stories I heard as a child about children picking up money and turning into tubers of yam or goats, were those stories real? Did any one ever see it happen?
Read somewhere that fairy tales came about as a means of teaching children about dangers and morals. Maybe the yam stories weren’t true but it made us never consider picking money or stealing money (meat was another matter). True or not it hit its mark.
